Winter

As the days shorten, the blooms in the garden become even more cherished. Hellebores and Snowdrops appear, rose hips abound and evergreen and silver foliage come into their own. Viburnum tinus, Euonymous, and Berried Ivy still give colour and texture. Hedgerows become treasure troves where Old Mans Beard and Winter flowering Jasmin can be found. Bare stems form the outline of arrangements and candles and light increase the romance and reflect the long winter nights. Ranunculus and Anemones with all their wondrous colours take the place as my focal flowers. Christmas wreaths and designs are welcoming and filled with seasonal delights. Berries and textured fruit are coupled with the delicate blooms of the winter garden.
